Urta Max SLR – Wilier Vittoria MTB Factory Team 2025

Product overview
The Urta Max SLR is Wilier’s full-suspension XC race bike with 120 mm travel, developed in collaboration with the Wilier–Vittoria MTB Factory Team for maximum speed, control and fun on modern cross-country courses. Its advanced suspension kinematics, progressive geometry and high-modulus carbon frame make it equally at home in World Cup races, marathon events and demanding trail riding.

Key highlights
Full-suspension XC race MTB with 120 mm travel front and rear

HUS-MOD high-modulus carbon frame and rear triangle for low weight and high stiffness

Geometry optimised for a low stack, longer reach and a stable 67.5° head angle to keep the rider low, centred and fast in technical terrain

Designed around modern 1x drivetrains, compatible with chainrings up to 38T and UDH dropouts ready for the latest SRAM Transmission systems

Factory-equipped 31.6 mm telescopic seatpost with travel matched to each size (100 mm for S–M, 125 mm for L–XL)

Suspension and handling
The Urta Max SLR uses a new single-pivot suspension layout with a carefully tuned leverage ratio to remain efficient on climbs, responsive under power and support the rider on big hits. Standard RockShox and Fox rear shocks with 45 mm stroke are matched to the frame’s kinematics to provide three distinct phases: initial support, a highly efficient mid-stroke for pedalling and a more progressive end-stroke to avoid bottom-outs.

Frame technology and protection
Both triangles of the frame are made from Wilier’s HUS-MOD high-modulus carbon, concentrating stiffness only where it brings performance benefits while keeping weight to a minimum. Cables for brakes, drivetrain and dropper post are fully integrated through the headset for a clean look and increased stiffness around the head tube, and a dedicated rubber cover protects the pivot area from mud and debris to preserve long-term reliability.

Tyre clearance and cockpit
The rear triangle offers clearance for 29" wheels with tyres up to 2.4" actual width, making it suitable for today’s aggressive XC and downcountry tyres. The optional Urta Max Bar monocoque carbon handlebar integrates seamlessly with the frame using dedicated spacers and uses HUS-MOD carbon to filter trail vibrations, while its -27° stem angle helps the rider achieve a powerful, race-oriented position.

Race pedigree
The Urta Max SLR has already proven itself by dominating the 2025 Cape Epic under Simone Avondetto and Luca Braidot of the Wilier Vittoria MTB Factory Team, with multiple stage wins, podiums and the leader’s jersey. In one of the world’s toughest MTB stage races, it demonstrated reliability on every type of terrain, explosive responsiveness in sprints and enough lightness to make a difference on the steepest climbs.
