TUFO – BICYCLE TIRE SPECIALISTS Company TUFO was established in 1991, expanding the decades long tradition of tubular tire manufacture in the Czech Republic. On the basis of the newest scientific knowledge and with application of the most advanced materials at that time, totally new concept in tubular tire construction was born – compact tubular tire. With focus on the development and manufacture of tubular tires as the best option for tire use in the top cycling events, we have succeeded in achieving the highest parameters of our compact tubular tires.

Close cooperation with number of World Champions and elite racers from all cycling disciplines has helped us to introduce our theoretical knowledge into practice and manufacture tubular tires that surpass the highest standards and increase the chances of winning in the battle for medals.
As we regard the process of product innovation and improvement as infinite, any comments, suggestions, feedback and complaints from all Tufo tire users are always welcome.

Our main products are tubular tires and tubular tires for clincher rims (tubular clinchers). Construction of both types is essentially the same, consisting of closed tubular toroid. Difference is only in the installation of the tire on the rim.

We have developed special double sided tubular gluing tape for installing our tubulars on any tubular rim. This tape is very different from all the similar products on the market. When using our tape, installation of the tubular is fast, safe and very clean. Right after the installation, your wheels are ready for riding, no need to wait for the glue to set.

When inflated, the tubular clincher, in the same way as a tubular tire, is pressed towards the rim. Simultaneously, the bead blocks of the profiled rubber band spread out embedding on the rim shoulders and eliminating any rotation of the tire against the rim as well as possibility of the tire unseating. The bottom profiled bead band does not function only as a filling in the area between the rim and the tire but also plays an active role. As the tire is inflated, the band sides literally “bite” into the rim shoulders.
This is the major difference from all previous unsuccessful experiments of other tire manufacturers, where the bottom rubber band was in fact only a passive filling between the rim and the tire.

Benefits of our tubular clincher tires:
    * high inflation pressures – up to 15 bars (220 psi) without any damage to the rim walls, even in a case when the rim manufacturer specifies lower inflation pressures (the pressure is contained inside the tire and does not affect the rim walls)
    * same riding quality as with tubular tires
    * safe handling in case of punctures, the stability of a rider is not affected
    * in case of emergency, the tire can be ridden flat
    * the fastest and easiest installation and dismantling without any tools
