The 808 Firecrest Tubeless Disc Wheelset from Zipp is all about science when it comes to speed. This is the perfect approach to the Zipp standard impeller for triathlon, time trial and hammerfests. The 80 mm high rim is designed to make you faster in every respect. The Total System Efficiency (TSE) design approach of Zipp gives the 808 Firecrest new properties, such as e.g. B. a significant weight reduction of more than 300 grams compared to the previous model. In addition, the impeller was developed with a hookless and tubeless rim profile and an inner width of 23 mm. This is ideal for driving wider tires at lower pressure, improving rolling resistance and cornering adhesion. In fact, TSE fights the four main obstacles to speed: drag, gravity, rolling resistance and vibraton losses. Zipp’s legendary Firecrest rim shape ensures high aero-efficiency and crosswind stability. Zipp’s ABLC- technology uses a complex dent pattern to improve aeroefficiency. And although this wheelset is optimized for tubeless tires, you still have the option of driving tubeless tires with hoses. The 808 Firecrest with TSE builds on the success of this wheel for TT and triathlon. This wheelset is fastest with a 28-MM tire. Disc brakes also offer more reliable speed control and braking power in all weather conditions. With triathlon, wider tubeless tires are faster with lower pressure and ensure smoother handling, so that your legs are fresher for the running track.
