Product information
The Giro Insurgent™ Spherical is designed to provide the protection our top riders require, from the Enduro World Series to the Red Bull Rampage. Our engineers have maximized the cool, fresh air openings while optimizing the outlet openings and everything is connected to deep channels. A lightweight, soft and absorbent cushion set includes a front pad with a special flange that wicks sweat away from the eyes. Two cheek pads of different thicknesses are included for each of the three sizes for individual adjustment. They are secured by a directional plug-in system, which allows easy removal in the event of a fall. With 1.040 grams in size M/L, the Insurgent 200 gram is lighter than the Disciple™ MIPS, although it also has the advanced protection performance of the Spherical Technology™. The Insurgent Spherical uses two inner shells that work like a ball joint to divert the impact energy in a fall. The outer shell is made of EPS, which is well suited for high-speed falls. The inner shell is made of EPP with lower density and rebound properties, suitable for low-speed accidents. Other features include a patent-pending Flex Gasket on the bottom of the helmet, which serves to reduce the influence of the helmet on certain collarbone breaks and tool-free removable visor screws with integrated Allen mount for easy disassembly and a Central sight screw hole, which serves as the ideal mount for P.O.V. action cameras. The new Giro Insurgent Spherical offers optimized protection for riders who redefine the boundaries in progressive mountain biking.
