The new De Rosa Merak
The new De Rosa Merak is the next evolution of an iconic racing bicycle—lighter, more stable and more precise than ever. Designed for riders who demand speed on every road, it blends low weight, responsive handling, aerodynamic efficiency and confident control into one complete performance machine.
For more than 25 years, Merak has evolved through materials, technologies and generations while preserving its defining character: a true all-round race bike, built to respond when the pace rises. The latest Merak continues that legacy with a completely redesigned carbon platform developed over two years.
At its heart is a 700 g frame paired with a 280 g fork, contributing to a complete-bike weight of approximately 6.9 to 7.1 kg, depending on the specification. Yet Merak is not simply about being light: its enlarged rear triangle and fork sections are engineered to deliver greater stability, precision and confidence at speed—especially when descending.
The result is a bike that accelerates sharply on climbs, remains composed through fast corners and feels equally at home on demanding mountain roads, rolling terrain and high-intensity race days. It is not a pure climbing bike, an aero specialist or an endurance machine: Merak is a complete lightweight racing bike.
