ARTECH ROAD WHEELS - TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION

The Artech Road Wheels series represents the pinnacle of cycling engineering, combining revolutionary 3D printing technology with advanced aerodynamic design to deliver the fastest and lightest wheelsets available for paved roads. Developed in The Netherlands and 3D printed in Germany, the Artech series features three distinct models engineered for specific performance characteristics while maintaining uncompromising stiffness, durability, and safety.

ARTECH 2 - THE ULTIMATE CLIMBING WHEELSET

The Artech 2 stands as the lightest wheelset available on the market, purpose-built for steep climbs and uphill racing. With a total set weight of just 965 grams, this wheelset achieves an extraordinary power-to-weight ratio that delivers unmatched performance on mountainous terrain. The shallow 22mm rim height on both front and rear wheels minimizes rotational weight while maintaining exceptional lateral stiffness, making it the ideal choice for securing your position at the top of every climb.

The rim construction features a 28.8mm external width paired with a 23mm internal width hooked tire bed, aerodynamically optimized for 28mm clincher and tubeless tires. This design delivers the perfect balance between rolling resistance and comfort. The wheelset supports tire widths from 28mm to 65mm and handles a maximum tire pressure of 8.6 bar (125 psi) with no rider weight limit.

At the heart of the Artech 2 are revolutionary 3D printed Artech hubs manufactured using advanced topology optimization. The front hub utilizes a 12x100mm axle system with two SKF 61803 bearings, while the rear hub features a 12x142mm axle system with three SKF 61803 bearings and one SKF 61903 bearing, upgraded with a 36T Diamond Ratchet SL engagement system. Both hubs feature Centerlock brake interfaces and can be upgraded with CeramicSpeed bearings for even lower friction.

The spoke configuration consists of 18 Carbonlite Aerospokes in the front wheel and 24 in the rear, providing exceptional lateral stiffness and improved efficiency during acceleration and climbing. The aerodynamic spoke profile reduces drag without sacrificing structural integrity.

ARTECH 4 - THE ULTIMATE ALL-ROUND PERFORMER

The Artech 4 delivers the perfect synthesis of climbing performance and aerodynamic efficiency. With a 45mm rim profile and a remarkably low set weight of only 1120 grams, this wheelset combines ultra-low weight with superior aerodynamics and crosswind stability. The Artech 4 is the ultimate all-round wheelset, equally capable of conquering the Pyrenees or dominating the cobbles of Paris-Roubaix.

The rim construction features a 31mm external width matched with a 23mm internal width hooked tire bed, aerodynamically optimized for 28mm clincher and tubeless tires. This configuration ensures optimal balance between rolling resistance and comfort. The wheelset accommodates tire widths from 28mm to 65mm and supports a maximum tire pressure of 8.6 bar (125 psi) with no rider weight limit.

The 3D printed Artech hubs feature the same advanced engineering as the Artech 2, with a front hub utilizing a 12x100mm axle system with two SKF 61803 bearings, and a rear hub with a 12x142mm axle system equipped with three SKF 61803 bearings and one SKF 61903 bearing. The 36T Diamond Ratchet SL engagement system provides direct power transfer with improved durability and significant weight reduction. Both hubs feature Centerlock brake interfaces with optional CeramicSpeed bearing upgrades available.

The spoke architecture employs 18 Carbonlite Aerospokes in the front wheel and 24 in the rear, delivering high lateral stiffness for increased efficiency during acceleration and climbing while maintaining the aerodynamic advantages of the optimized spoke profile.

ARTECH 6 - BEST-IN-CLASS AERODYNAMICS AT CLIMBING WEIGHT

The Artech 6 represents a groundbreaking achievement in wheelset design, combining best-in-class aerodynamics with a weight level typically associated with shallow climbing wheels. With a 65mm rim profile and an astonishing set weight of just 1244 grams, the Artech 6 makes it possible to ride climbing stages at the Tour de France on an aero wheelset without any weight penalty.

The deep-section rim construction features a 31mm external width combined with a 23mm internal width hooked tire bed, aerodynamically optimized for 28mm clincher and tubeless tires to achieve the perfect balance between rolling resistance and comfort. The wheelset supports tire widths from 28mm to 65mm and handles a maximum tire pressure of 8.6 bar (125 psi) with no rider weight limit.

Unlike the Artech 2 and 4, the Artech 6 utilizes Scope Artech hubs instead of the 3D printed design, maintaining the same high-performance bearing configuration with two SKF 61803 bearings in the front hub and three SKF 61803 bearings plus one SKF 61903 bearing in the rear hub. The rear hub features the 36T Diamond Ratchet SL engagement system for direct power transfer. Both hubs employ 12x100mm (front) and 12x142mm (rear) axle systems with Centerlock brake interfaces, and CeramicSpeed bearing upgrades are available.

The spoke pattern mirrors the Artech 2 and 4 with 18 Carbonlite Aerospokes in the front wheel and 24 in the rear, providing exceptional lateral stiffness and aerodynamic efficiency through the optimized spoke profile design.

SHARED ADVANCED TECHNOLOGIES

All three Artech Road Wheel models incorporate cutting-edge technologies that define the series' exceptional performance. The Algorithm Enhanced Aerodynamics (AEA) technology uses sophisticated algorithms to optimize the most aerodynamic rim profile, guaranteeing optimal aerodynamic performance across all riding conditions. The exclusive Surface Structure Aerodynamics features Aeroscales that generate velocity streaks traveling at different speeds over the rim surface, creating a stabilizing effect on airflow and reducing drag.

The Local Reinforcement carbon technology increases the number of carbon layers around the spoke holes on the inside of the rim, significantly reducing weight while preserving strength and stiffness. The unique Scope Tubeless System geometry ensures easy tire mounting, direct inflation, long-lasting pressure retention, and compatibility with all clincher and tubeless tires.

The Diamond Ratchet SL engagement system, constructed from titanium and finished with a diamond-like carbon coating, delivers direct engagement with improved durability and significant weight reduction. The lightweight Carbonlite Aerospokes provide high lateral stiffness resulting in increased efficiency during acceleration and climbing, while the optimized aerodynamic spoke shape reduces drag.

Each Artech wheelset includes a comprehensive package: pair of pre-installed tubeless valves, pre-installed tubeless rim tape, Carbonlite Aerospokes spoke and nipple key, Artech accessory bag with cleaning materials, and two Artech padded wheel bags. All models are backed by a 30-day free trial, lifetime warranty, lifetime crash replacement program, certificate of authenticity, and free worldwide shipping.

The Artech Road Wheels series offers multiple drivetrain compatibility options including Shimano, Campagnolo, Shimano Microspline, SRAM XD(R), and Campagnolo N3W, ensuring seamless integration with any road bike setup. Available in both black and white decal colors, these wheelsets represent the ultimate fusion of evolutionary perfection and revolutionary engineering for the most demanding road cyclists.
