Biotex s.r.l. is specialized in hi-tech under clothing We are manufacturers of thermal wear since 1967. In 1990 we began specializing in under clothing by using the fabrics and techniques previousely used to improve clothing. Biotex was set up in 1999 and specializes in hi-tech thermal underclothing. Hi-tech, comfortable and fashionable underwear are the results of resaerch, innovation and years of experience. We are continuosly working to improve our products and the quality of our fabrics. In the near future people will use this kind of fabric for everyday clothing and not only for sportswear or under extreme weather conditions.

Sportswear was the first sector of clothing to be hit by technological innovation. Clothing manufactures needed to find the perfect product to match longlasting reliability and comfort.

why polypropylene?

Biotex uses polypropylene for undershirts that guarantee a pleasent feeling and keep you dry even after hours of physical activity.

Natural fabrics such as cotton and whool have been replaced by a more efficient fabric: polypropylene.

COTTON

Cotton was the first fabric to be used for sportswear. It is light but it absorbs sweat and keeps it for a long time thus giving the impression of wearing a wet and cold shirt.

Pros: ecological, good contact feeling, economical

Cons: takes long to dry, light, fragile, change features after washing

WHOOL

Whool is able to balance the change in body temperature but it is the fabric that takes the longest to dry.

Pros: ecological, isolating, economical

Cons: takes long to dry, heavy, change features after washing

POLYPROPYLENE

Polypropilene combines the best of cotton and whool. The specific weight of polypropylene is the lowest among all fabrics, so it is the best fabric for the making of underclothing.

Pros: lightweight, fast dry, strong, keeps inaltered after washing, antibacterial, resistent to funghi, it does not absorb dust, water or humidity, antiallergic and does not give bad smells

THE TECHNOTRANS FABRIC

The two-layer structure of TECHNOTRANS fabric, available only from BIOTEX, works like this:

the internal polypropylene layer, which rests comfortably against the skin, doesn't absorb sweat but wicks it away to the outside;

the outer cotton layer soaks up all the sweat and evaporates it away.

The special structure of the TECHNOTRANS fabric (interior terry cloth stitching) provides an insulating cushion of air.

This stops penetration of cold or heat, keeping you dry and warm in winter and dry and cool in summer.

These articles can be worn as underwear or alone for everyday activity and under extreme weather conditions.

BIOTEX FISHNET FABRIC

The special fishnet fabric, available only from Biotex, is made from 100% polypropylene.

The main feature of the polypropylene fabric is that it remains dry even after many hours of sweating and under extreme weather conditions like rain. The specific weight of the polypropylene fabric is the lowest of all textile fabrics so this yarn is perfect for undershirts because it makes the shirt light and comfortable.
