A glance is enough to perceive the first novelty of the Speed CMPTZN DB wheels. In fact, the new models share the Black Label graphics already adopted for the Racing Zero CMPTZN family. The aesthetics are decidedly "racing", without exaggerating with unnecessary details. The sober and minimalist design not only gives a unique and timeless look, but also saves weight - because when it comes to high-end wheels, even a few grams make the difference.
The total black graphics are not the only novelty. The real challenge was in fact to improve the superlative Fulcrum Speed 55 DB launched in April 2020 - with which the Speed CMPTZN DB wheels share some technical details, such as the full carbon rim with "Twill" finish and the 2: 1 spoking. This time we wanted to optimize a high-end product by offering a further step in terms of smoothness and lightness. We therefore relied on the refined technology of our CULT ™ bearings which, thanks to the use of steel races with very high corrosion resistance and the use of ceramic balls, allow us to save weight (10 grams less than the Speed 55 DB ) and to achieve unparalleled smoothness. The use of a thin layer of oil instead of lubricating grease and the precision machining of the bearings reduce friction and increase smoothness up to 9 times more than traditional solutions with a saving of up to 3.5 Watts per pedal stroke . In other words, the new Speed CMPTZN DB wheels allow you to reach higher speed with less effort - the ideal situation for those looking for absolute performance. In addition to a significant improvement in mechanical performance, the new Speed CMPTZN DB wheel hubs also boast an aesthetic restyling and sport a matt black look in perfect balance with the black on black graphics of the rim.
Versatility is another keyword of the Speed CMPTZN DB wheels. The new models are available in the 2-WAY FIT version that allows you to mount both tubeless (for better smoothness and puncture resistance) and clinchers (for the more traditionalists). The internal width of the 19 mm channel also makes it possible to mount covers with different widths; in any case, the racing nature of these wheels finds its maximum expression using 25mm or 28mm tires.
Designed in the 40mm medium profile version (Speed 40) and in the 55mm high profile version (Speed 55), the Speed CMPTZN DB wheels are now available in limited quantities, before the production increase expected in February 2021.

Working in synergy with the Cofidis Team we have thus succeeded in designing standard wheels that adopt the same technical solutions developed at the request of Elia Viviani and used in competitions by the Veronese sprinter, such as the CULT ™ bearings.
