The Integrated Seat System (ISS) is an innovative patented system which permits the direct integration of the saddle on the seatpost without using a rail. The saddle base and clamp have been designed so as to optimize
system weight and comfort, increasing the prerogative of safety and performance in respect to normal saddles with rails, today.
Its particular “keel” shaped design guarantees vibration absorption, and therefore superior comfort in respect to rail saddles or T-shaped mono-rail inserts.
The “keel” shaped structure increases fatigue (strain) resistance, in as much as it uniformly distributes weight and vibration throughout the base, thus increasing the saddle life.
Even from a safety point of view, the ISS system offers important advantages in respect to normal solutions. The rail, in fact, tends to go out of its axis seat modifying the rider’s posture resulting in altered efficiency, and an aspect not to be underestimated, the athlete’s biomechanical performance.
The ISS ultimately offers to the saddle/seat-post system a substantial advantage in terms of weight. Considering same saddle dimensions (length and width), comfort (cover material padding thickness and quality/specification of the same material) and seat-post, in fact the ISS permits consi-
stent savings, on the average more than 70 grams.
In short, there are three main advantages of the ISS in respect to classical systems with rail or T-shaped rail:
1. duration: longer life and rail axes maintenance;
2. comfort: superior to rail saddles and those with T-shaped rail;
3. saddle/seat-post system weight: on the average at least 70 grams less than normal saddle systems.
