Eclipse plus is born with all the production concepts inside the
project NO LIMIT CARBON ENGINEERING. First of all Eclipse
Plus has been created inteded to be a larger numbers of users,
with physical and racer characteristics different from the normal
users of Eclipse.
The features of Eclispe Plus are not only the resistance to higher
weight by the users. This new model has been designed to
incorporate the technical and aestethic upgrated who makes it
for some aspects superior to Eclipse.
Keeping the same seatstay and chainstay design (who are
fundamental for the lightness guaranteed by the both models) it
has been designed a triangle with a stronger shape’s design and
with differents thicknesses to get an higher mechanic resistance.
Result got thanks to the CLS CARBON DESIGN.
Eclipse Plus keeps also some new important features. This new
model provides a BB shell press-fit to increase the frame’s
stifnesss. The solution of internal cable makes much more elegant
and fashion the entire frame. Always thanks to RAW MATERIAL
QUALITY TESTING, it has been made a careful analysis of the
use of materials in the construction of the Eclipse Plus to achieve
the objectives that we set the Guerciotti goal.
The material used for Eclipse Plus are the same used for the
model Eclipse.
The cabon fiber used for Eclipse is Toray. The external fabric is
3K plain M49 produced by Hexcel, the unidirectional inside is
M46J produced by Advanced. The downtube is a combination
of HR40 and M64 materials which confer a great torsion
stiffness to the tube and an high resistance to impacts. The
HM46J fiber and the UD fiber is used in the downtube to confer
more resistance to torsion. In fact, based on the results of tests
carried out in laboratories and in the field during racing events,
when it is properly made, the downtube prevents the bothersome
vibration effect at high speeds.
The use of materials such as the M46J and the HM64 in the
construction of Eclipse and Eclipse Plus allow to obtain very
satisfactory results, the most important of which are the resistance
to traction (210kg/mm2) and the resistance to compression
(72.5 kg/mm2). The use of these fibres to manufacture these
tubes enables mechanical resistance to traction values which can
be compared to those of a steel tube. By using them, besides
having a considerable stiffness, the frame also becomes more
resistant to impacts and to heavy stress.
All these innovations included in the new Eclipse Plus, leading
to higher processing and greater use of materials they have no
limited the lightness of this model, reaching anyway a frame’s
weight of 950 gramms, but available also for riders with weight
of 95 kg.
All these upgradeds on this model permit to have Eclipse Plus
also available for the groups Shimano Dura-ace DI2.
